As an organization committed towards social responsibility, SAGT has always been actively involved in giving something back to the community. Our contribution towards this cause was highlighted through following activities.

SAGT donated 3 units of Multi Parameter Monitors for the surgical intensive care unit of the Colombo National Hospital in February 2010

The influx of innocent Tamil people held as hostages fleeing to the government controlled areas brought about unprecedented pressure on the government agencies to provide the basic amenities to these people. This situation created an urgent requirement for food and other basic necessities for these IDPs. In Response to this urgent national need, SAGT took immediate action to send 2 X 20’ containers, containing Bottled Mineral Water, Sanitary Items, Milk Powder and other required dry food items to Vavunia in April 2009.

SAGT Donates 06 Philips Multi Parameter Monitors & Philips Multi Measurement Server to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children
Presently in Sri Lanka there are almost 250 children born annually who are suffering from congenital heart diseases. More than two third of this group of little children would be able to live a normal or near normal life if they undergo appropriate medical & surgical treatment in their early life.
The main purpose of establishing a cardiothoracic unit which is dedicated for children at the lady Ridgeway hospital was to save these little hearts and give them their life back. This is the only cardiothoracic unit dedicated for children in Sri Lanka.
Although a new building was constructed to accommodate children after surgery, the hospital was unable to make use of this space due to lack of medical equipment.
Fulfilling a requirement, SAGT donated 6 nos of Philips IntelliVue Multi Parameter Monitors and Philips Multi Measurement Server in January 2009.
SAGT also contributed towards the supply and installation of an Air Conditioning system to the Cardiothoracic HDU.

For the 7th consecutive year SAGT donated school books to the lesser fortunate students in the areas of Dehiwala, Ratmalana, Mt. Lavinia and Nugegoda through the project organized by Dehiwala and Ratmalana Development Foundation.
More than 3000 students are benefited from this project.

Eluwapitiya Junior School in Veyangoda is a rural and an underdeveloped school in the Gampaha District
Although the students had Information Technology as a subject in the syllabus, they didn’t have even a single computer in the school for them to learn. Fulfilling this requirement, SAGT donated 5 computers for them to initiate a computer lab, in August 2008.

For the fifth consecutive year SAGT became the official sponsor of Wheelchair Tennis, Sri Lanka.
SAGT sponsorship towards the development of wheelchair tennis among disabled soldiers and disabled children has made a huge progress in the game in Sri Lanka during the past few years. Many players have developed to the international level where a lot talented players participating in international tournaments.
Upali Rajakaruna the star in Sri Lankan wheelchair tennis has made some remarkable achievements in the international scene.
7.
SAGT donated another 75 Braille Typewriters to the School for the Blind, Ratmalana in January 2008, after the initial donation of 25 nos in April 2007.
Meanwhile SAGT also sponsored a person to attend a training program on “Advanced Braille Writer Repair & Trouble Shooting” by Perkins in India.
This is the largest donation received by the School for the Blind, to date.
