Construction of the breakwater for the new South Harbor adjacent to the Port of Colombo is currently underway in order to meet the increasing need for greater capacity.
This facility which is designed for 12 deep draught berths on completion will accommodate container vessels of the next generation. The new South Harbor will be able to comfortably meet the projected demands placed on the Port of Colombo as the premier hub seaport in the region.
