- SAGT Responds Spontaneously to the Requirements of the IDPs In The North
The influx of innocent Tamil people held as hostages fleeing to the government controlled areas, has brought about unprecedented pressure on the government agencies to provide the basic amenities to these people. This situation has created an urgent requirement for food and other basic necessities for these IDPs. In Response to this urgent national need, SAGT took immediate action to send 2 X 20’ containers, containing Bottled Mineral Water, Sanitary Items, Milk Powder and other required dry food items to Vavunia on the 24th of April 2009.
These goods were delivered to the Air-Force base at Vavuniya by 0630 hrs on staurday 25th April and then handed over to the Government Agent at Omanthai. |
