South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT) is a globally recognized, award winning, public private partnership container terminal in Sri Lanka, which commenced operations in 1999, launching the Port of Colombo as global trade’s pre-eminent gateway hub to South Asia. Job Profile
The selected candidates will play a key role in supporting social media activities, sustainability initiatives, and stakeholder engagement while gaining valuable exposure to industry-best practices.
Key Learning Opportunities:
- Understanding Terminal Operations: Gain insight into port and terminal operations.
- Commercial Insight: Understand key KPIs used in terminal operations.
- Market Research & Analysis: Assist in gathering and analyzing market data, industry trends, and competitor insights to support business development initiatives.
- Brand & Communication Support: Participate in content creation and communication strategies, including marketing campaigns, newsletters, presentations, social media management, and corporate materials.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, finance, and IT teams to support commercial and marketing objectives.
- Professional Development: Build critical business and communication skills in a high-performance, globally oriented work environment.
- Sponsorship Management – Including sponsorship evaluation, compliance monitoring, and enhancing brand visibility.
- Assist with implementation of sustainability initiatives and projects.
Candidate Profile:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management, International Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in commercial operations, customer relationship management, and marketing within the logistics or maritime sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with marketing principles and digital communication is an added advantage.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional setting.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
