Job profile:
This position is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted and efficient operations of the terminal in respect of the key terminal assets and environmental management services by maintaining the wharf, terminal yard, roadways, all buildings and utility services in conformance with the highest safety and environmental standards.
Main responsibilities of the job include:
Planning, coordinating and ensuring the execution of service, repair and maintenance of the wharf, terminal yard, roadways and buildings to ensure smooth functionality of the terminal operation.
Liaising with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and obtain/renewal of annual licenses.
Planning, preparing, implementing and monitoring capital expenditure and expenses budgets.
Preparation of tender specifications for new civil engineering projects, technical evaluation of bids and implementing the projects.
Ensuring proper maintenance of all terminal auxiliary systems such as water supply and distribution, sewage treatment plants, fire hydrant system, building central AC system, wastewater management and that corresponding standby systems function reliably.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent with at least 10 years of work experience
Over 05 Years leadership experience in –
Civil Engineer in a large-scale organization in a leadership role
Handling occupational safety, environmental and related regulatory standards to meet national/ international standards
Managing projects and proven project management skills
Planning and implementing repair and maintenance work in a large-scale industrial organization with respect land and building services management. Experience with wharf structures or similar facilities is not essential but would be an advantage.
Managing a range of diverse contractors
Ability to manage a skilled work force including contractors
Ability to work under demanding conditions and get optimum output from available resources to ensure continuous reliability
A high degree of computer literacy and proficiency in the use of civil engineering equipment & tools
Negotiation skills
Possess a professional qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.
