A Controller Deck/Wharf is responsible for systematic execution of tasks with high precision to ensure all operations on wharf and on-board the vessels are carried out as per strict Operational and Safety guidelines. Effectively communicate with operators to ensure high levels of productivity and quality of service.
Job profile:
- Coordinate/ provide input for crane operator to discharge or load containers from/ to specific locations on the sips as per the plan safely and seamlessly.
- Ensure lashing/ unlashing work is carried out as per specified plan meeting requirements of the specific vessel.
- Be the focal point for enforcement of the company safety practices rules and regulations in the wharf and on-board ships in order to ensure strict compliance.
- Liaise with operations executives of profess/ problems during operations.
Candidate profile:
- Passed G.C.E. (O/L) examination in six subjects including Mathematics and English with minimum three (03) credit passes in not more than two sittings and G.C.E. (A/L) examination with minimum three simple passes for core subjects in not more than three sittings.
OR
- Passed G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects including Mathematics and English with minimum three (03) credit passes in not more than two sittings and relevant professional qualifications from a recognized university/institute.
- Excellent Oral & Written communication skills in English language.
- Ability to plan, direct, monitor, lead and control specific operational tasks on board ships and on the wharf.
- Minimum 03 years of work experience (local/overseas) In Port Operations/Container Yards/ Shipping Lines.
- Willing to work on roaster/ shift basis (12 hours roaster day/ night including holidays/ weekends).
